Cultivating Mindfulness in Community

A Midwest Wellness Hub in the heart of Sylvania, Ohio.

Founded by Zen teachers Jay Rinsen Weik and Karen Do’on Weik and led since 2024 by their daughter, mindfulness coach Isabella Ryuka Weik, Toledo Mindfulness Institute is a space for nurturing presence and deeper connection — with oneself and others.

Our mission is to nurture resillience and wellbeing through integrating mindfulness and modern life. Because suffering takes many forms — stress, disconnection, burnout, fear — we believe in practices that meet people where they are.

That’s why we offer secular mindfulness training through workshops, keynote talks, consulting, and special events, as well as an array of meditation, movement, and healing practices:

More than just an inward journey, mindfulness is a shared path.

It’s a living, breathing practice made richer by community. Whether you’re just beginning or deepening your path, membership offers a chance to go further, together.

Weekly & Seasonal Events

From yoga classes and sound baths to workshops and special events, we invite people from all walks of life (and levels of experience) to restore, reflect, and rise.

What Our Community Is Saying

“Mindfulness taught me how to truly be present — for myself and for my students.”
